L-Shaped Computer Desk in Cappuccino Finish Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Delivery was 2 weeks late (1 week due to a blizzard - which was beyond anyone's control).
Instructions were clear & easy to follow. Packaging of hardware was very good; enclosed to keep from losing parts/screws etc... The file/drawer cabinet has 4 wheels for the main part and one for the file drawer itself to keep it from tipping (big plus). The keyboard tray was set up on the longer desk (pilot holes) and the underside of both desks made it easy to add another keyboard tray to the smaller desk. I have 3 computer systems with 5 monitors so the size of this desk suits my needs perfectly.
I gave this desk 4 stars due to delivery and the corner section. The post for the corner was difficult to assemble and leans which isn't a big deal - it connects into the other two desks in a way that it is fully supported. One suggestion for improvement would be to make one side wall of each desk narrower in order to open up the corner of the desk. I have this up against 2 walls and cannot get access to the corner any farther than an arm's length. My co-workers at first commented negatively on the rounded corner but that actually works to an advantage in that I can have the desk flush against both walls and I use the gap at the rounded corner for my cords/cables. I just had to use a broom handle to move the cords/cables from the corner to where the outlets are.
All in all the desk looks great. Everyone has commented positively on the style and color and I am happy with it.
I'm just wondering if they sell the file/drawer cabinet separate in case someone would want an additional set of drawers.

Cherry Finish Triple Floating Wall Multimedia Storage Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Before anyone buys one of these units, I urge you to search and read other reviews here on Amazon for "floating wall multimedia storage." I read many of those, and doing so helped me know what exactly I would be buying and what sorts of issues I would encounter in assembling my triple floating wall unit. I also urge you to check carefully the various vendors to see who offers the best value. I did not pay the same price as posted here.
That said, I am overall pleased with this storage unit. It looks good in my listening alcove, especially from a bit of distance, and improves access to my CD collection, at least to the 80 percent of it I could fit into this cabinet.
A number of other reviewers noted that only one side of the shelves was painting, and because this unit hangs, the unpainted shelves detract from the look. Thanks to this tip, I painted the underside of 12 shelves that with glossy black spray paint, and I am glad I did so. (And if you already have yours installed with unpainted shelves, it would not be a big chore to empty your cabinet and paint these. I also picked up some extra wood screws for attaching the mounting section from which the cabinet hangs---these are not included with the hardware for some reason---and I attached this piece to the wall studs with six of them.
It took me a bit over an hour to assemble the cabinet. Getting the three cardboard backing sections to line up was a bit frustrating, but attaching the top proved the bigger challenge as the predrilled holes in the top section did not quite match the predrilled holes in the interior vertical supports. So I had to drill some additional holes and slightly damaged the coating on the top. Because my unit sits so high, one cannot see the entire top shelf, so this damage, in my case, was not consequential.
The instructions are OK, but keep a picture of the finished unit close by to help guide you anyway.
Again, echoing what others have noted, because of cabinet's design, the couple of CDs closest to the sides are hidden by the vertical cross pieces. This feature can actually be an asset if you are a closet Simply Red fan or you want to keep your friends from finding the CDs they loaned you. It is also a bit of a pain.
A final word: if you are hanging one of these cabinets over your audio gear, do some careful measuring first so that your wall storage cabinet does not prevent you from opening the dust cover on your turntable.

Connections Frame Pack Set of 2 Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)These beautiful and sturdy shelves are a breeze to assemble. NO TOOLS! I had them up, by myself, in less than 20 minutes. The shelves(sold separately) are solid wood with a nice finish. These are cusomizable, annd can be set up as shown or with the angles out, or two side by side with an extra set of shelves in the middle. Instuctions show all options. You can even set them up as a room divider at right angles. The price was higher than my budget, but these will last a long time, and the stress free assempbly sure beats allen wrenches and cam bolts and cheap screws.

Entertainment Center Set in Black - Bradford Place - Inspirations by Broyhill - 433-SET Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Where do I begin? First of all, the company we purchased this from was outstanding. However, the product is very disappointing. We purchased all three pieces to this unit. The first piece we decided to put together was the TV stand. First of all, we received the wrong assembly instructions. It was for a "Mates Bed" instead of for a TV stand. Fortunately, I called Broyhill customer service and they were able to email me the correct assembly instructions. The next problem we ran into was a screw was missing. We weren't able to purchase one at the local hardware store as it is a specialty screw. We spoke with the hardware employee and he told us since there were 8 other of the same screws, we would be safe to leave it off. So, we took his advice. The next problem we had was the divider for the shelves was off-centered, so it was very difficult to get the shelves inside the stand. My husband literally had to push up against the divider with his foot and slide the shelves into the unit. A major issue we had was the unit comes with two sliding doors. We received one of the doors damaged. The wood was completely split on both sides and the glass is scratched up. The last issue we have had was there's a gap in the edging of the unit. My husband tried his hardest to fix it, but there is nothing he can do about it. It's very disappointing to not have a product that is put together decently. The only thing I can say is, I have called Broyhill about the missings pieces and the damaged sliding door. They are sending me a new one. I haven't received one yet, but I am hopeful they will make this problem right! We have yet to put the two wall units together and are hoping we don't have any problems with them or missing parts. All in all, the quality is okay, pretty disappointing. But, we really do like they way it looks. I do have buyer's remorse. I am hoping once it's all together, I will feel differently.

3-tier Curved Shelf Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)total press board junk, directions were non-existent with the exception of some scurrilous diagrams how this may go together. They pressure bearing screws lost their threads as soon as any pressure was put on them. I will have to burn this $100 pile of junk as there is no way to recover it and make it work. The image may be accurate for one of 1000 models but not for any one you will receive.

(CN-418) Solid Wood Recessed in the wall Niche Shelf, 18"H, multiple colors Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I am pleased, but not thrilled, with the wall niche. I ordered beige and the one I received was pale green. It fit in OK with my decor so I decided to keep it rather than deal with the hassle of returning it. It was not real difficult to install; however, it was 1/2 inch too deep for my wall, which I thought was a pretty standard-sized wall for a private home. My brother and cousin got some 1/2 inch molding and glued this around the back before glueing the whole thing into the wall. Now installed, it is lovely and I like it. Oh, one other problem was that there were no pegs included to hold up the shelves. Luckily, they fit in very tightly and I'm not putting anything heavy on them. The workmanship on the product is good.

White 24 Slot Cubby Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This product works out very well and is a good value. Assembly, however, is not without difficulty as the slotted walls do not mesh easily and must be "persuaded" with a soft hammer which tends to damage the veneer finished edges. I did not hang it on a wall but used it free standing on the floor. I cannot, therefore, comment on it's use on the wall.
I am pleased with my purchase.

Prepac Double Floating Wall Storage In Cherry Finish Cfw-0349 Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I really like these shelves because they look great on my wall, but I wish they held more DVD's. I use them only for my movie collection and there is an akward space at the top that's too small, unless I lay the DVD down. It would be fine for a CD but I think the manufacturer should make them a little bigger. It just looks off to me. Otherwise I love them. They're strong and easy to put together.

The Taunton Press Building Traditional Kitchen Cabinets Book #070196 Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This book is totally void of useful details and long on unexplained jargon and the author's personal promotion of the use of marked sticks (which he calls "story poles") instead of a tape measure. Also, he dwells almost exclusively upon promoting European cabinet hardware---rather than traditional American hardware, as the title would lead one to expect. I plan to ask for a refund. Save your money folks.

Library and Display Center Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)A wonderful solution for our homeschool activities! Very nicely made, but be advised that this is a big piece.
The only problem is with the shallow sides. On these sides, the books are displayed by their front covers, and they fall out when you roll the display. We have had to adapt it and put dowels horizontally on all the shallow shelves. You would think that the manufacturer would have figured that out. Otherwise - great investment and very happy we purchased it - I can see my dining room table again!

Solid Wood Literature Rack - Medium Oak - 24 (Medium Oak) (49"H x 28.5"W x 4.75"D) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This brochure rack is great! It's a beautiful solid oak, and has wooden dividers so that you can change between 8 1/2 x 11 sheets of paper and tri-fold brochures. It looks great in our office, and really helps make the lobby look professional. This product was also the least expensive one I found, and had free shipping! The only thing I would change is that there is no cover to hold the brochures in, so if you stack too many, they'll lean forward and fall out onto the floor.

Archetype Shelf- Walnut Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I ordered a couple of these to expand the Salamander Designs A3/W Archetype 3-Shelf Audio Stand (Walnut)
http://www.amazon.com/Salamander-Designs-A3-Archetype-3-Shelf/dp/B0006VPUM6/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1262298075&sr=1-7
I was a little concerned as the Audio Stand was listed as (Walnut) and the single shelf was listed as (Walnut Veneer). As far as I can tell, the shelf is not veneer but is the same quality wood as the rest of the shelves in the stand. The wood grain varies from shelf to shelf but in my opinion, this adds to the beauty of the piece. The shelves fit with the Stand and with a little planning and patience were easy to add on.
Very sturdy. No scratches. Packaged well. Shipping was a little slow compared to the Stand which I ordered at the same time but it seems to be a third party vendor and maybe is not on the ball as much as Amazon was.

Contemporary X-Cross Design Bookshelf Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This is my first review on Amazon, and I am playing into my own theory that only people who are disappointed write reviews, but this product is so poorly made that I couldn't sleep until I warned others. There are 2 screw-dowels that broke while screwing them in, cutting my hand....so I do admit I put the rest of it together a bit cautiously and with a band-aid on my hand....
The bookshelf is made very cheaply, and I'll have to reinforce the bottom shelf with another glued member from underneath in order to set anything on it. The wooden dowels that they "pre-installed" were not in all the way and popped the wood veneer off the finished side during assembly. I had to glue the veneer back on. It also did not come with any stickers to cover the screw heads, and they are VERY noticeable after installation. I had to use black electrical tape that I cut around a penny that semi-matches the black finish.
The furniture came with no paperwork other than the 2 page instructions of assembly. No company name on the box. Although the box did come with a 1-800 number to call if any parts were missing or defective....go figure, the line has been busy every time I called.
Thank God for Liquid Nails, Band-Aids, and a sense of humor. My wife and I laughed more while putting this piece of junk together than we have in a while....we were just amazed every step of the way on how we got screwed.
That being said, it does look nice from across the room. I am just not sure how sturdy it is....I guess time will tell, and we may be in for some more laughs.

Dixie Bed in White Lacquer Size: Full Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)For an inexpensive piece it looks great. Quality it is not the best but for it's price it does the job & safe. I ordered the set on a Friday received it the following Thursday. My husband and I assembled it Friday night and it took us about 3-4 hours. The only mishap that we had was that the front bottom piece was cracked. I immidately contacted the company and left a message. Monday morning I received a phone call back with them sending me a new piece asap. We will see how fast it arrives but I'm very impressed that I did not have to leave another message before them getting back to me. The set is for my daughter and she absolutely loves it!!!! It looks wonderful in her room. It has storage under the bed, in front and a bit with the hutch. I am very happy with it & for the price that I paid for it! It was exactly what we were looking for and we did a lot of searching!!! I did not want to spend a lot due to the fact that my daughter is only 4 and we know how they keep things. It truly looks beautiful in her room with her bedding. She is super happy and so are we!!!! I recommend the product highly.
P.S. someone mentioned on a previous review that her full mattress did not fit? Mine is a full also and fits just perfect and it is a new mattress too.

Lite Source 13BK20 Basketball Clock, 10-Inch Diameter Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Solid and heavy. Not cheaply made. Had a slight issue with the hands needing to be pushed out so they would work properly. Mounting is kind of a pain due to the way the slot is molded in the back. Bent the screw when I tried to remove to put a battery in. Lesson learned, put the battery in before mounting to the wall. All in all, looks great.

Planet 3- Black Lacquered Shelving Unit Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought the matching TV stand last year thinking that the shelves in the stand provided enough space for our cable box, gaming consoles, etc. When we needed more space, I set out to find the matching shelving unit and found it at several websites. Amazon.com had the best price and the best shipping cost. The only trouble I ran into with the order was a mix up at the manufacturer, who sent me the wrong product. Amazon.com fixed the problem immediately at no cost to me, and I had the right product within a few days. My only issue with the unit is that like all heavy shelving units, it's a little shaky. An anchor is included where you can attach it to the wall, but I'm in an apartment, so this isn't an option for me. I was able to place moving sliders underneath it, and it seems to shake a lot less.
