(More customer reviews)We purchased this bookshelf for our kids. The entire unit is moderately sturdy. Kids can open and close the doors without a problem. We don't have any super heavy books in it but so far it has held some weight on every shelf. My only concern would be the durability of the magnetic closure.
Take note of the measurements to know it is not very wide. It is worth it for the price and doesn't occupy much space.
