(More customer reviews)My husband and I are very pleased with our king size Monterey storage headboard in Espresso finish. The flat packed carton containing the headboard parts arrived from AAA furniture in excellent condition. The packaging was done very carefully with extra protection for the corners, and therefore, we received no damaged items. Upon unpacking and inspecting the contents of the box, we were very pleased to see that all the pre-drilled holes lined up correctly on the pieces, and there were no parts missing.
The directions for assembling the headboard were very easy to follow, but you will still need to pay attention to detail! We had a few "Aha!" moments but no major show-stoppers. You need TWO people to put this together successfully. Someone who is familiar with putting furniture together should find this a breeze. My husband and I worked as a team to put this headboard together in about an hour, with zero problems, and no arguments or swearing! It was probably the easiest bit of furniture assembly we have ever done.
The finished product looks very good in our modern / minimalist condo - we decided that we liked the headboard much better without the enclosed backing (so we left it off, on ours you can see the wall through the shelving) it looks much more clean and modern that way. If you are a more traditional style person, the backing should be attached to give a more solid wood look.
All in all, I gave this product five stars because:
(a) The finished headboard looks very nice - not cheap; it is crisp and modern
(b) It was so easy to put together
(c) The price was awesome!
I would recommend this headboard to a friend.
