(More customer reviews)This headboad is really hard to put together because the cam/lock system it uses doesn't keep pieces together properly. It falls apart just by looking at it. I had to reinforce it with brackets just about everywhere. I had to ask for a replacement, and after battling over the phone, finally got the piece one and a half months later (Racks & Stands said they'd forgotten about me, they "fixed" their mess with a 10% credit). The pieces are made from cheap particle board, which desintegrates when you are trying to fit the pieces together. It looks pretty from the distance, but not worth the trouble or the money. I would buy solid wood next time and never from Racks and Stands again.

My only complaint is that it does not attach to the bed. I guess we could manage something, but nothing was there to actually attach the bed frame to the headboard. Worth the money!

(More customer reviews)I ordered the double head board from Amazon & the 6 drawer matching bed frame and 6 drawer tall chest of drawers from target. The headboard came within about 2 days, was in great shape, had all of its pieces and the directions (the bed frame was missing its directions!). The directions are great and easy to follow. My father actually put together the frame and it was not fast, I would say at least 2 hours, but very straight forward. It looks good, shiny and nice. My one problem with these products, not applicable to the headboard, is that the drawers don't seem to run incredibly well on the runners, seeming to catch at times. This set looks great in my studio apartment where I wanted something that looked nice and had a lot of storage!

Parts aren't labeled or numbered, but easy enough to figure out. Otherwise, I'd give it five stars.

Full Size Cherry Platform Bed and Bookcase Headboard Review

(More customer reviews)I bought the complete bedroom set of this PrePac bedroom furniture. Be wary of any product from Prepac.
The laminate on this junk is so thin it flakes at the slightest bump. I've worn nail polish that has lasted longer than this stuff. The company did pack a marker to "detail" the chips and cracks in the laminate, but there were so many nicks and chips and cracks already on the stuff when I unpacked it that the marker was not enough to cover them. The marker was also a darker color than the laminate, very noticeable on the longer cracks. On the head and foot piece to the bed bottom the laminate was buckled and torn all the way across the flatter viewable side. You could see machine track marks from the factory on other pieces. Several pieces were outright smashed on the corners. This was obvious damage done at the factory as the boxes it was shipped in were in perfect shape.
The directions to assemble this furniture are written well enough, but the pieces are not labeled to match the directions. You have to guess which piece of actual wood the picture is refering to. This was a nightmare for the bed. The packaged hardware was also missing vital hardware - a couple cam locks and one whole set of screws and wing nuts necessary for stabilizing the bedframe.
Calling Prepac for replacement parts was a nightmare and, as of the writing of this note, I still have not gotten them to send me anything - not even a wingnut. I got the run-around all three times I called.
DON"T BUY THIS CRAP!!!!!!!

Queen Size White Storage Bed with Bookcase Headboard Review

(More customer reviews)I bought the queen bed, headboard, night stand, and dresser for my teenage daughters room all for about $750 delivered which is a great price compared to the other furniture we looked at in town and online. I would consider myself handy and have a fair amount of experience with putting together furniture and I would consider these furniture items to be in the challenging-hard range for level of difficulty to put together and make it work correctly.
First of all, the bed has no good way to attach to the headboard and in fact doesn't even fit onto the headboard between the molding on the front of the headboard when it is all put together. I had to cut a notch out of each side of the molding in order for the bed to meet flush with the headboard. Secondly, I had to drill holes through the bed and the headboard and secure them with carriage bolts in order for the bed and headboard to be one solid unit, otherwise the headboard is separate from the bed and pretty unstable. Lastly, in order to keep the bed square and make it possible to open and close the drawers, I had to put a few wood screws through the slats that hold that mattress into the base of the frame to secure it. All in all, not too big of a deal if you are fairly handy, don't mind doing the extra work, and live close to a hardware store.
The night stand and dresser went up much easier.
All in all the furniture looks nice once we got it all up, functions well, and after the adjustments, is fairly sturdy. But, because it's particle board and melamine, I worry about the durability for the long term. There are a few minor scratches just from putting it together already.

(More customer reviews)This headboard is a great price, it's functional, and looks very stylish once it's put together. It is a spacesaver if you have a narrow bedroom like we do, which can not accomodate nightstands. Assembly is not too difficult if you have assembled something before. Some of the pieces are very fragile until they are put together. Just take it very slowly, read the instructions carefully, and get some help with the large parts. I assembled the king headboard right on top of our bed, it was the most comfortable place to do so, and then it was easy to transfer it to the floor, with help from my husband. In addition, I cut two holes in the back board as pass throughs for electrical cords, using a hole cutter on my drill. It is better to drill the holes before you tack on the back, as this will protect the thin finish better. Just hold up the back to the assembled headboard case, measure and mark where the holes are needed, and then move the back to a safe place on the floor where you can drill the holes. Drill slowly, and you will have a good result. We are very pleased with this headboard.

(that comes with the tight living quarters!) storage drawers are great! very roomy and if you watch clean house you know how to make things fit!! i would definanlty recommend this for someone who needs the space and is low on the flow. :o)

(More customer reviews)Overall, this is a fantastic bargain for someone looking for a practical, storage-type headboard. The price ($178) for the king size was the best I was able to find for a storage headboard. It's particle board-type material, assembled like IKEA furniture. The instructions could have been a bit clearer on the assembling of the storage shelves, but really not a problem. The one thing that really needs caution is tamping in the dowels on the very top shelf of the headboard. Make sure you line them up and hand-guide them into the holes. I screwed this step up because I was doing it myself and had a hard time since it was king size unit. Only improvement I would make is to cut out some holes in the backer piece so that electrical cords can fit thru for a nice, clean look if you plan on putting a telephone or small lamp or electric clock on the headboard shelves.

It was very easy to put together with a partner and looks great; I have gotten a lot of compliments from friends and family. Three things to note: be careful when placing screws in top piece as they will go through and you'll end up with ugly bumps in the finish; there are no holes cut for electrical cords so you'll have to cut your own; and you need to have the screws that came with your bedframe to attach the headboard (no hardware is provided for this). Otherwise, its a nice piece of furniture and I'm very glad I bought it.

Sonoma Storage Headboard Review

(More customer reviews)I've been searching hard for a bookcase headboard, and I finally decided on this one. The product arrived in a timely manner, it was well packaged, and nothing was damaged. Assembly would have been easier had the individual pieces been labeled on the piece, not just in the instruction book. Nevertheless, I assembled it myself and it was relatively easy to do. (Though a word of caution about operator error: This bookshelf is not the stablest thing while assembling it, so make sure it won't tip over. Mine tipped over as I was attaching the top piece, and in the process, some of the plastic dowels that held the top molding in place broke in half! Once you get it completely assembled and against the wall by your bed, it is perfectly stable, however).
This headboard looks exactly like it does in the picture. It's not the greatest of quality - just particle board covered with laminate. It does serve the purpose I was looking for, and the price is more affordable than most.
This headboard does not include hardware for attaching it to the bed frame, and you will have to drill the holes yourself. It also did not include any holes in the shelf part for running electrical cords through. If you want to put an alarm clock, lamp, phone, etc. on your bookshelf, you will have to drill those holes yourself too.
