(More customer reviews)the bed - Very sturdy and easy to assemble for a mail order bed. (Although it is a little tedious, there is a lot of parts due to the shelving.) I love the platform bed, but see my caveat for the headboard.
HOWEVER - Do not choose the lowest list price. I ended up paying double for shipping than I did for my gun safe which weighed about 3 times more. Before you choose which Amazon company to use, put it in cart and see what the total price is... then repeat until you find the TRUE best price.
1-5-09 update - Now that I have had it for a few weeks. The drawers are pretty useless. 2-3 are already not tracking well, as if the tracks are worn or warped. I am simply not going through the effort to disassemble to get the necessary access to fix. I am trying to find out how to drop my rating a star or two.

Maximize storage options in the bedroom with this king-sized platform storage bed. (More customer reviews)This headboard is a great price, it's functional, and looks very stylish once it's put together. It is a spacesaver if you have a narrow bedroom like we do, which can not accomodate nightstands. Assembly is not too difficult if you have assembled something before. Some of the pieces are very fragile until they are put together. Just take it very slowly, read the instructions carefully, and get some help with the large parts. I assembled the king headboard right on top of our bed, it was the most comfortable place to do so, and then it was easy to transfer it to the floor, with help from my husband. In addition, I cut two holes in the back board as pass throughs for electrical cords, using a hole cutter on my drill. It is better to drill the holes before you tack on the back, as this will protect the thin finish better. Just hold up the back to the assembled headboard case, measure and mark where the holes are needed, and then move the back to a safe place on the floor where you can drill the holes. Drill slowly, and you will have a good result. We are very pleased with this headboard.

This is a good quality bed including a footstool. The bed is huge, so you are better off if you have a large bedroom on the same floor as your entrance.DECENT QUALITY
We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the bed. It looked better than we expected.
All the drawers slide in and out easily. The drawers in the headboard are lined with soft cloth. The headboard shelves include holes for electric cords.
The main drawers aren't deep enough to use all the space in the bed, but they still offer a lot of storage. Ideally, we wish the blank space between the drawers in the foot board was a small door so that we could use the empty space in the middle of the bed too.
The package includes the footstool shown in the product photo.SHIPPING
Shipping took a few weeks.
We had a part with a slight break from shipping. Visiondecor offered to replace the broken part, but we fixed it ourselves.
Shipping did not include assembly, and did not include carrying the pieces to our master bedroom on the second floor. The four main pieces were very heavy and unwieldy. My wife and I had an extremely hard time getting the pieces up our staircase. If your bedroom is on a different floor than your entrance, you may want to reconsider this purchase.ASSEMBLY
Once we had the four main pieces in the correct room, assembling them only took about an hour.
The instructions were poorly written, but that wasn't a problem.
Hint: if you assemble this on a carpet, the headboard will sink into the carpet more than the main piece, so the bolt holes may not line up at first. You can slide a few of the thin sheets of plywood the bed was packaged in under the corners of the headboard to raise it up a bit for assembly. (I don't think this would be a problem on a hard floor.)MASSIVE
This bed is incredibly huge. If you look at the product image and imagine a 6' (183 cm) tall man standing next to it, his belt would be about even with the top of the mattress. You'd better have a large room for this bed.

Bookcase Style Cherry Finish King Size Storage Headboard Review

(More customer reviews)Let me preface this review by saying that I have a black belt in furniture assembly. I have mastered the art of Ikea and I have rarely encountered a particle board that I could not whip into a sturdy glinting piece of furniture. But no matter how skilled you are at furniture assembly, there is just no escaping the fact that this item is shoddy, flimsy and abysmal in quality. In fact, once it was assembled, I immediately threw it out.
The problem lies not in the instructions, which are idiot-proof. The issue is that the screws used to assemble them item are weak and lose their treads so easily that they can't be placed effectively. What's more, the particle board splinters and cracks so easily that its structural integrity is dubious at best. Moreover, the fake wood finish scratches off so readily that your item may very well be scarred and ugly by the time you get it put together.
So, yes, I succeeded in assembling it exactly according to the instructions. But the materials were so weak that the headboard was too rickety for me to consider keeping. I would have had to sleep underneath it every night, in fear of being beheaded when it finally decided to collapse. Seriously, I had to throw it out just to avoid a terrible, bloody, particle board-induced death.
Do not buy this item for anyone you love, including yourself. It may, however, make an awesome gift for your arch enemy.

First their original packing yielded a broken piece, the customer service team got back to me after two days with questios then another two days with suggestions then another days with answers, they then sent the new piece by the slowest and cheapest method possible, all in all, it took 5 weeks from order to finally having all the pieces to assemble the package. Now the headboard is great, it was simple to assemble, and looks wonderful. I would simply suggest finding a different reseller than Visiondecor as there are many options.

(More customer reviews)We are very happy with our headboard. It was easy to put together. Two cautions: the box is over six feet long and over 70 pounds. Our UPS driver was female and couldn't deliver the box alone!!! Thankfully my husband and son were home to take care of it. Then when I finished the headboard, I needed a helper again to move it to where we wanted it. The packing was very good. There was one chipped corner of one piece which was not very visible so we installed it as it was. Also, the top and side facing pieces are not screwed, but have plastic screw-looking dowels to hold them in place. I caution you not to pound them too much. I did and there are a few places where it is raised slightly from the force of my trying to get them on there securely. Gentle tapping is sufficient. It looks lovely installed and hold a TON of stuff, books, clocks, phone, vitamins, .....
