(More customer reviews)This bed is great. I purchased this bed along with a tall bookshelf headboard when I moved into a new place that didn't have room for both my dressers. The drawers are not as big as you would get in a dresser, but there are six of them, so it was exactly what I needed for the additional storage.
The packages are pretty heavy, which was the first sign that the material is of quality. It took several hours to put together, and you definitely need a partner to do it. Nothing is labeled explicitly, but once you get a hang of the materials and directions the assembly is not difficult despite it taking so long. Having a drill screwdriver definitely is a must; it would otherwise take forever. Once constructed, I found the bed to be really sturdy and solid. The drawers slide easily and fit great into their slots. Overall, the bed does not feel or look cheap.
I am very pleased with this product, especially at this price. I've already gotten compliments on it and am excited when I see it my bedroom!

Manhattan Espresso Finish Headboard for Queen/Double Bed Review

(More customer reviews)For the price it is a finishing piece for an additional, not so often used bed; it looks alright once assembled which took me about an hour to do. It is what one would expect for paying the low price. The functionality of the item matches what you would need for a guest bedroom but the material wouldn't hold up for daily use I don't believe.

(More customer reviews)Well-built, heavy, good quality for the price. However, bring a power drill--there are no holes for attaching a frame. Otherwise, pretty good overall. Fit and finish about a nine out of ten, instructions fairly straight forward.
Parts aren't labeled or numbered, but easy enough to figure out. Otherwise, I'd give it five stars.

It was very easy to put together with a partner and looks great; I have gotten a lot of compliments from friends and family. Three things to note: be careful when placing screws in top piece as they will go through and you'll end up with ugly bumps in the finish; there are no holes cut for electrical cords so you'll have to cut your own; and you need to have the screws that came with your bedframe to attach the headboard (no hardware is provided for this). Otherwise, its a nice piece of furniture and I'm very glad I bought it.

(More customer reviews)I've been searching hard for a bookcase headboard, and I finally decided on this one. The product arrived in a timely manner, it was well packaged, and nothing was damaged. Assembly would have been easier had the individual pieces been labeled on the piece, not just in the instruction book. Nevertheless, I assembled it myself and it was relatively easy to do. (Though a word of caution about operator error: This bookshelf is not the stablest thing while assembling it, so make sure it won't tip over. Mine tipped over as I was attaching the top piece, and in the process, some of the plastic dowels that held the top molding in place broke in half! Once you get it completely assembled and against the wall by your bed, it is perfectly stable, however).
This headboard looks exactly like it does in the picture. It's not the greatest of quality - just particle board covered with laminate. It does serve the purpose I was looking for, and the price is more affordable than most.
This headboard does not include hardware for attaching it to the bed frame, and you will have to drill the holes yourself. It also did not include any holes in the shelf part for running electrical cords through. If you want to put an alarm clock, lamp, phone, etc. on your bookshelf, you will have to drill those holes yourself too.

(More customer reviews)We bought the Logik bed and the matching headboard and acutally received a different style headboard with a three sections for books and a bit deeper shelf (9 inches vs. 7) and didn't notice until it was put together. My daughter loves the one she has, so we are happy and they were the same price. The only thing with the headboard is if you don't have the headboard backing up to a wall, the back of the unit is brown pressboard, not white - so it doesn't look so nice if it is visible. Quality is great and functionality is great. There are no pre-drilled holes to let you know where to attach it to the bed, which is not so good, but that was the only complaint.

(More customer reviews)My daughter looked on-line for furniture to replace the bunk beds that her and her sister just sold. She found Southshore furniture and showed me that not only did the wood match the dressers that we already had - but the price was reasonable. We purchased two Twin Mate beds and the Bookcase headboards. My husband and I were able to assemble both headboards within 1 hour. We assembled the beds as easily, but experienced a problem with the second unit. We found that all of the long boards had been broken in half - though we were dumbfounded as to how since the packaging was intact. Nonetheless, one call to the Southshore number located on the instruction sheets, and we had the replacement boards within 10 days. Though this lengthened the amount of time one of our daughters had to sleep on the floor, it was well worth the wait when we saw what the finished products looked like. Really happy with the furniture and would recommend it.

(More customer reviews)This is a great headboard! It's not perfect, but works well for what I was looking for. Right now, I have a bed that sits directly on the floor with a box-spring and mattress. Since this headboard is made for a platform bed, it works perfectly with my set up. Eventually, I'll be getting the matching platform frame. For the most part, it was easy to put together with an additional set of hands and turned out quite sturdy. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that a few pieces aren't exactly flush once put together (but barely noticeable), and there was a small ding on one of the boards (but again, barely noticable). I would definitely recommend this headboard. It's nice to have the extra storage and a place for my alarm clock and "at night" reading.

It isn't "fine furniture" but is sturdy enough to hold up to heavy kid use. After spending a good amount of gasoline and time searching stores, I found it to be just as easy to order online and have it shipped. I'm glad I did as I have no complaints.
