(More customer reviews)These are made out of wood,and a light wood like pine at that. Each bookend is 5.5" x 5.5", which is smaller than I expected, but dimensions were not listed in the product details. The weight is not 5 lbs as stated. I placed both bookends on my scale and it registered 1.5 lbs. These won't hold up any books, including small children's books. Instead these are overpriced bookshelf decorations. This was one of the few times that I bought something on amazon that wasn't rated, and I won't do it again. Shame on me for not doing more research. Shame on the company for false-advertizing and misrepresenting.
