Instructions for putting it together are a bit confusing, but it's not difficult to figure out how to put it together. It is a good buy. A problem: the package was missing two screws.

(More customer reviews)I ordered three of these and put them together in an evening. This color is quite dark, almost black, so I wish I'd chosen the lighter color. They are already suffering some lighter scratches at the base but that's because we have them under the kitchen counter for extra storage, cookbooks etc. Not a huge investment but very functional, so we're happy with it.

Not only is it very inexpensive, it is easy to assemble (I am a 62 year old female and I did it alone in less than 1 hour) and quite beautiful. I have very expensive wood Mersman bookcases and this compares favorably to those. I am trying to find the 27 inch wide by 72 high bookcase with doors on the bottom that goes with this. I just love the set. My son has a large entertainment center and it is beautiful, also.

(More customer reviews)ASIN B000O6JJX4 - Attractive piece of furniture, happened to be the size I needed. I'm unimpressed with the back of the unit, which is just a teeny step above those cheap cardboard ones. Still, a step above.
I was also unhappy with the fact that the screws on the sides of the unit won't go all the way in - at least not without power tools, and once we've reached the power tool stage, we've crossed over from "easy assembly" - this makes the little plastic covers for them pointless because they look like mini mushrooms instead of blending in.
