The only problem I had was getting it delivered. For whatever reason, it required an adult signature so UPS would not leave it and I had to pay extra to reschedule a delivery date when I was not at work.

I bought some of these to stagger around a 'double' shelf and I place nicknacks on top of some of the stacks. You do need a medium to large book to fit on the bottom. Easy to attach to wall and they are very sturdy. Pretty good deal I found on Amazon too!

Winsome 29330 Leaning Desk With 2 Shelves - Black Review

What I liked about it was that it was similar to Crate and Barrel's Sloane leaning desk set but almost half the cost (BTW, if you do chose to get this CSN sells the set for about 180 with free shipping). Well, you get what you pay for.
The wood is lightweight and it arrived somewhat chipped (nothing that some black paint can't fix) after shipping. I didn't want to bother sending it all the way back, then waiting for a new one to come so I will deal with this for now.
The set is okay, but is more like the cheap IKEA stuff than C&B.

(More customer reviews)I actually ordered the narrow version of this shelf unit, but don't see it offered now so will write a review for its "big brother"! I received the 5-tier narrow ladder shelf today, but sadly I have to return it because it is smaller than the dimensions stated. The width shown in the Product Information dimensions is for the back of the "ladder" - and is the outside dimension, not the opening. The front of the shelf is about 3 inches narrower (and the opening another 2 inches less) and too small for the item I ordered it for. I tried putting it in from the back and side, but no go. It is a great shelf - super easy to assemble - but I wish they'd give more accurate info on the actual size of the shelves. I should've ordered this wider version but wanted as narrow a shelf as I could get by with for the corner space it would be in. Recommend the shelf, just know the front opening is actually about 4-5" narrower than the width given.

Number one rule in design...you get what you pay for! This product was total crap. The screws ran right through the "wood" and the client actually refused it. So, I wound up returning it and purchasing from the other retailer. Hassle. But all is good now for my client.
Amazon was great at resolving the problem.

Poundex Corner Shelf, Oak Review

(More customer reviews)My husband and I just bought this for a corner of our dining area, but we don't like the quality much.
The assembly is pretty easy to do, but the materials are just all very low-quality. It comes with an extremely small amount of wood glue (looks/feels like library paste) for putting pegs in place. It's also held together by screws.
The color is quite orange...not sure how they came up with the name "oak" for the color. The finish is marred and there are a couple of scratches (one of which we'll need to sand to avoid splinters), and some of the wood appears to be filled in with glue or something because it's low-quality wood.
It wasn't quite worth it to deal with shipping it back, so it'll do its job--it just wasn't really worth the price we paid, cheap as it is.

New Leaning Ladder Wood Bookshelf Rack Wall Bookcase Stand Review

Overall construction is pretty good, with no dents, knots, or scratches viable. Only place the paint seams to be thin on are on the bottom undersides of the shelf's.
Surprisingly light when put together but is very strong. Was able to completely cover one in books.
All the shelves are large enough to hold items. The top shelf is just large enough to hold DVD or Blue-ray cases spines outward.
Both kits I got had a left over screws so they take into account those who are bound to loose one.
Easy assembly, needing only need a screwdriver. Directions say two people should put it together but I did so easily by myself.Neutral
Items was shipped and delivered before expected date. Always a plus, but the poles in the sides came separate, wrapped in just flimsy cardboard and bubble wrap. One bad drop from a delivery man and it would have had to be returned for damage.
They expect you to anchor the shelf to the wall with screws. Something not friendly for mine or most peoples apartments. But some cheep rubber feet glued to the ends protects the walls and the weight of my items keep it in place.
Bad
Bottom shelf is nice and large but putting to much on it makes it creak precariously on me. Granted I was abusing the thing with some very large books. Could have used a small leg in the back to ensure there is no breakage.

(More customer reviews)The bookshelf may not e sturdy when it doesn't have books on it, but mine is full and I've had it a little over two years now and have never had it fall or move around; and it's not anchored to the wall. So I don't know what the woman before me was complaining about.
The shelves are different sizes, so you can keep your bigger books on some shelves and smaller books on others. They shelf is a little ridiculous how small it is, but that's the only complaint I have. I've been able to fit every book I own, including binders on it with no problem. So, once again, don't know what the woman before me was complaining about.
It looks great! I get compliments all the time. And a great price! Especially compared to similar bookshelves.
