(More customer reviews)I bought this shelf for my office at church. I was skeptical of this bookshelf because like many of them, it's not solid wood. But anything made of solid wood is outrageously expensive, especially the bigger the shelf (which makes sense). So I settled on this one. Overall, I'd have to say I'm glad I took the chance on it. It seems to be a rather solid and sturdy bookshelf.
Pros:
Tall and wide (had trouble finding the dimensions I wanted before this shelf)
Materials are thick and solid
Color is okay
The back board is solid, not that cardboard crap we usually have to deal with
Cons (minor):
Color - I would have liked a darker color, less red more brown or black. (this has less to do with the quality of the shelf and more to do with what is offered by the manufacturer)
Back board - Comes in three pieces (Once the shelf is all put together it is very solid but I wasn't sure before I put it together. they may have a reason but I don't see why the back board wasn't just one piece. They certainly charge enough for this book shelf
Don't get me wrong, I like this book case. I was expecting crap (even considering the price) but got quality. I would definitely recommend this book shelf to anyone. I would rather a much darker color but that is my ideal. I think you can do much worse (Walmart or Target) than this book shelf. I will hopefully be buying some for my house.
