This is not the case. The painting is a bit messy but not noticeable from afar, and my son doesn't seem to mind.
He loves his own little book case.
It is just right for someone who is 3ft high.
I got this thinking it was made in the USA as everything on the Teamson web site led me to believe this, but it came labeled made in China.
The web site says their products are made with non toxic paints, so I hope that this in fact is true.
It is durable and was relatively easy to put together.
